A late night shot of the brand new concourse at London Kings Cross station.

Hopefully no more overcrowding whilst waiting for a train on Friday nights.

Up On The Ridgeway

Last summer I would take the opportunity to spend my lunch hour up at Barbary Castle and watch the world go by.    Here is a view from the Ridgeway back towards Swindon and the surrounding area.

Goodwill at The George

The second old haunt of the day The George on Great Portland Street. Four real ales available. I am trying the Goodwill bitter by O'Hanlon's in Devon. A nice rich 5% Christmas tipple.

Wheat Beer at The Cock

Today I managed to revisit one of my old haunts, The Cock on Great Portland Street, just round the corner from Oxford Circus in London. As it is a Samuel Smiths pub a wheat beer was in order.

Piston Groovy at The Rivermill

I managed (after 4-5 missed gigs) to go and see Piston Groovy back at the end of November at the Rivermill in Eaton Socon, St Neots.  Whilst space is a bit tight in there for a live band, the gig was grea and with the exception of an elderly gentleman who had to walk right past the speakers to get out, mouthing FFS with fingers in his ears; everyone rocked out!

Whiskeython - September 2011 - 2

Continuing from Part 1

First of all the running order needed to be sorted.  This was quickly aborted and used as a ticking off list.

So starting with the favourite, Bowmore and a large slice of chocolate birthday cake.

Whiskeython - September 2011

On the 7th September I decided to celebrate my 38th birthday with another run on The Glue Pot's single malt shelf.  18 single malts in one session, last attempted (and passed) back before Christmas 2010.

Could it be done for a second time or was it a one off?

A quick survey of the single malt shelf was needed before starting.
